Tips to take care of toddler

Have fun with your children and stimulate their creativity

Creativity is a very important part of children’s development, as it demonstrates their ability to come up with ideas and solutions for the various situations they are experiencing. To help stimulate creativity, it’s important to figure out what inspires your child’s imagination and curiosity. In this article, we’ll give you some helpful tips:

  • Don’t constrain your child. Treat his or her questions and ideas with respect, as all of them are important. Remember that you are a source of support and guidance.
  • Always consider your child’s suggestions. Encourage him or her to improvise and come up with solutions to different situations, stories and games. This will help build confidence.
  • Encourage your child’s freedom of expression and allow him or her to participate. Let your child brainstorm when it comes to games, words and phrases.
  • Buy appropriate clothing for playtime so your child will always feel comfortable and be able to express him or herself freely.
  • Do crafts together. Provide access to all of the materials your child needs to give free rein to his or her imagination.
    • Materials to shape by hand: playdough, clay or even colorful homemade dough.
    • Different kinds of paper: kite paper, glossy paper, tissue paper, construction paper and cardstock.
    • Drawing and painting materials: crayons, colored pencils, brushes and organic, non-toxic paints.
    • Cardboard: pieces your child can tear apart or cardboard boxes your child can use as a car, a house or whatever else he or she may think of.
    • Others: different colored yarn, thread and cloth.

With all of these materials, you can create toys or anything else your little one’s imagination comes up with. Whenever your child is at your side, explain things clearly in a gentle tone of voice. Always remember to be vigilant. Don’t leave you child alone with materials he or she might try to eat.
